Dealing with an addiction is never an easy thing, even more so if it gets to the point where family or friends essentially have to push you into getting help. I am glad you are doing better!
Have missed you and I understand. I went to AA for 3 years about 20 years ago, when I was going through my divorce (we were both alcoholics). There are a lot of really great people in AA who will be there for you if you need them. The best part about getting sober is waking up a “different” person almost every day. It’s like emotionally maturing at warp speed. It’s a wild ride but well worth it. Peace and health to you, great to have you back.
I know it wasn’t easy. My oldest son went for for heroin and is thriving now. I’m happy you received the help you needed. Look forward to more great writing from you.
