Elon Musk recently posted on Twitter that the scariest result of the Fermi Paradox is that we are all alone in an endlessly unresponsive cosmos.
Perhaps. Most likely. Who knows? No one.
If we are alone in the universe, then all our interest in a perfect civilization falls on deaf ears. Is there a God? I don’t fucking know. Neither does anyone.
It’s a real moral proposition: if we are alone in the universe, is there something to strive for beyond us? And what are we striving for? An inexplicable God, who isn’t and is—while all the worst of us continue in our dastardly behavior?
Hmmmm. I just don’t know what’s up. I don’t pretend to either. Do you?
What's the overlap between God and Aliens?
